Itinerary Details
Day 01 – Kathmandu-Arrival
Welcome at Kathmandu AirportSightseeing Tour of Kirtipur
Arrive at Kathmandu international airport, you will be received by the representative of LuckyTrip and would be further assisted & transferred to your hotel.
Later take a guided tour of Kirtipur. Kirtipur is a tiny historic place that is in south west of Kathmandu and located on a hilltop. In Kirtipur visit Tribhuvan University – Nepal’s foremost seat of education. This place has several attractions as old shrines, temples and old houses.
Day 02 – Kathmandu
Sightseeing Tour of Kathmandu
Later visit the Kathmandu Darbar Square, Patan Darbar Square (Both UNESCO World Heritage Sites). Patan is the oldest city and second largest city of three main cities in Kathmandu valley. Swayambhunath Gompa – it is one of the most magnificent Buddhist Chaityas in the world. It is believed to be 2000 years old structure.
Day 03 – Kathmandu-Kodari (Drive Trek) Kodari-Zhangmu
Drive to Kodari Border (04 HRS Drive)
In the morning, we leave Kathmandu by a private vehicle on a scenic drive towards Kodari (Tibet-Nepal border) passing through the magnificent countryside of Nepal. You need to leave the vehicle at Kodari and start a small walk of approximately one & half hour uphill along with porters to Shangmu Immigrations – it is known as Khasa for Nepalese, hangs on a cliff face. This is a booming town and the architecture having a temporary look. Even the roofs of monasteries are covered in grooved iron sheets and are located at a height of 2,500 m.
Day 04 – Zhangmu-Xegar (Drive)
Drive to Xegar (05 HRS Road Trip)
After having breakfast, drive uphill towards the highest plateau in the world viewing the typical Tibetan landscape. You will cross over Nyalam Pass (3,800 m) and Lalung-La (Pass) 5,050m, here one can have the views of stunning Himalayan Ranges that includes the Mt. Everest (8,848 m) and Zhangmu (244 Kms) etc. It is also called “new tingri” and surrounded by mountains. Zhangmu is the place which lies in the shadow of a huge castle. Even in ruins it looks imposing. It was isolated by marvading Nepalese in 1855 in the search of booty; the Gurkhas cut off the water supply of Dzong and established in for a long seige.
Day 05 – Xegar-Shigatse (Drive)
Drive to Shigatse (04 HRS)
Today, drive to Lhatse (T-cross to Mt. Everest) and passing the Gyatsola Pass (5,220 m) en-route to Shigatse (240 Kms). Shigatse is the second biggest town of Tibet and is the Tsang’s capital located 354 KMS west of Lhasa situated on an altitude of 3,810 m.
Day 06 – Shigatse-Gyantse (Drive)
Drive to Gyantse (02 HRS)
Take a tour of the Monastery of Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu. Drive to Gyantse (90 Kms) – which is a rustic town located among Xigatse and Lhasa. It is located at a distance of 264 Kms in the southwest of Lhasa. It still has the character of a traditional Tibetan town and is not touched by modern extension. As it was place situated on the major trade route towards India and used to be well-known of the excellence for its carpets. The complex, surrounded by on imposing wall, once had 19 monasteries, supervised by the intact fort balanced atop on a mountain close by. Later also visit the Phalkor Monastery and Kumbum Stupa.
Day 07 – Gyantse-Lhasa (Drive)
Drive to Lhasa (05 HRS Drive)
Today drive to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet (264 Kms) passing through a picturesque route passing through Karola Pass (5,010m), Kambala Pass (4,794 m.) and a colourful lake namely Yamdrok, occasionally along the lifeline river of Tibet Brahmaputra recognized as yarlung Tsangpo.
Day 08 – Lhasa
Sightseeing Tour of Lhasa
Take a sightseeing tour of the Jokhang Temple – it is located in the mid of Old Lhasa. This temple has the most precious religious relic of Tibet’s like a golden Shakyamuni Buddha – this was brought by the Chinese Princess Wen Cheng as a gift on the time of her wedding with Songtsen Gompo, the Tibetan King. The busy Barkhor Market place is surrounding the Jokhang Temple that is the spiritual and communal centre of Lhasa.
In the afternoon visit Potala Palace, this renowned palace made atop on a single hill and is a synonymous to Tibet by the first and leading King Songtsen Gompa. This palace was extended to its current formation by the 5th Dalai Lama in the 17th century. This 13 storied 1000 room’s fortress served as the head office of the previous “church-state” in Tibet and was the home of succeeding Dalai Lamas. These Dalai Lamas in the latter half of the 18th century used this fort as the palace in the winter.
Day 09 – Lhasa -Kathmandu (Flight)
Fly to Kathmandu
In the morning you will be transferred to Gangaar airport to embark a flight to Kathmandu.
On arrival at Kathmandu, you will be received and transferred to your hotel.
Day 10 – Kathmandu
Sightseeing Tour in Kathmandu
Morning take an excursion to the ancient city of Bhadgaon. Later in the day take a tour of Pashupatinath – one of the very sacred temples for Hindus dedicated to Lord Shiva and Bodhnath – one of the largest Stupas of Nepal and also is one of the ancient Buddhist stupas.
In the evening, you would be taken to Nagarkot for a panoramic Mountain View and experience sunset on the Himalayas.
Day 11 – Kathmandu-Departure
International Departure
At appropriate time, you will be transferred to Kathmandu international airport to embark the flight back to the onward destination. The tour will culminate here.
