Itinerary Details
Welcome at Paro Airport Drive to Thimphu (01½ HR Drive)
Arrive at Paro airport, you will be received by the representative of LuckyTrip and would be further assisted & transferred to Thimphu.
Rest of the time is kept free to recover from jetlag.
Sightseeing Tour of Thimphu
After having breakfast take a tour of the National Library that houses a huge collection of the ancient Buddhist manuscripts, the Traditional Medicine Institute and the School of Thangkha Painting.
Also visit Dechenchholing valley and experience the silver and gold smiths at work.
Sightseeing Tour of Thimphu
Today visit the weekly local market and experience the atmosphere of the vegetable bazaar, the Memorial Chorten of his late Majesty King Jime Dorje Wangchuk, the Tashichho Dzong & National Assembly.
After lunch visit a handicrafts Emporium to view the exquisite artistry of traditional crafts and textiles.
Rest of the time is kept free for shopping & other optional activities.
Drive to Mendegang (02 HRS Road Trip)
Today take a 02 hr’s drive to Mendegang passing through the Dochula Pass.
Take a short halt at Cochula for tea and snacks.
Arrive in Mendegang and check in to the hotel.
Later take an excursion to Punakha Dzong – the Punakha High School.
Excursion to Gangtey Gompa (02 HRS One way)
Have leisurely breakfast and drive further to Gangtey Gompa and appreciate the beautiful interiors of Bhutan.
Later enjoy your lunch and experience in the valley of Gompa.
Return back to Mendegang to spend the night.
Drive to Paro (02½ HRS Drive)
Today, drive to Paro via Thimphu.
Have lunch at Thimphu.
On the way visit the Simtokha Dzong – the oldest castle of its kind in Bhutan which is now a religious university.
Arrive at Paro, check in to the hotel.
Sightseeing Tour of Paro
Take a daylong sightseeing tour of the Drukgley Dzong. If the day is clear, you may see the 24,000 feet white domed peak of sacred Chomolhari (Mt. of Goddess).
Visit National Museum situated in an ancient watch tower- it houses the rich collection of weapons, Thangkha, textiles and artefacts.
Later take a small walk to Paro Rimpung Dzong.
